Play is at the heart of social justice in early childhood. Children instinctively advocate for their right to play, whether they are sitting quietly for the promise of the reward or running boldly straight for the door to begin. The joy alone that play brings has the potential to foster connections and learning among children, educators, and caregivers in ways we have yet to fully comprehend.
Play Dirt Projects aspires to hit "play dirt" by reimagining the future of early childhood education. When play is synonymous with learning, it transforms environments and practices, enhancing the connections within the brain, heart, and body. Strong internal connections lead to stronger external connections and our potential to thrive, individually and collectively, in community with other human beings. Play intuits the innate gifts present in every human from birth, laying the groundwork to create, communicate, connect, and cultivate relationships.
