Play Dirt Projects was founded in 2022 to promote endeavors that press for more play in early childhood and prioritize education models that acknowledge and nurture all young children's inherent human potential.
I am an educator, author, and artist. I've worked with and learned from children of all abilities in urban public schools since 2009. I believe in the power of play to dismantle the long-reigning systems and rules that perpetuate exclusivity and oppression in learning environments. Play lays the foundation for all future learning, is the precursor for positive relationships, and is the antidote for toxic stress and trauma. Play is at the heart of social justice and educational equity in early childhood education, as it creates conditions for collective liberation. My mission is to serve and connect with my community through play to nurture, transform, and realize a future for our children far beyond the measures of our wildest imagination.
